   You should definitely ask for more pictures to be emailed to you before buying it. You should ask for pictures of the interior (and of any tags, number, embossing), close ups of the leather, ask how old the bag is, try to get a look at the stitching to see if it’s even/neat/not frayed. Also try to get a look at the zipper pull – it should be LV not some other brand. Any of the hardware should be marked LV.

   If it’s supposed to have been used often then the leather should be a darker color – usually the leather starts off an off-white color, and with more use it gets to be darker brown.

   Buying things like this on ebay is sketch – there is only one picture, and you can’t even really zoom into it. So demand to see more of it before putting money out there. I’ve also seen lots of bags like this on a replica site: bags09.com so you might want to ask them just how they came across the bag and how they know it’s real. It seems odd that a police department would sell on ebay, but I’m sure stranger things have happened.

   Just ask lots of questions and weigh out what you’re doing. Sometimes, even a fake bag is worth it if it’s done so well that nobody besides you can tell the difference. good luck
